Default Diff = 23mm bolt?

So I changed my diff fluid this weekend and I do believe there was a 23mm bolt that was almost impossible to get to with anything but an end wrench. Is there is magic trick to that or was it just that poorly designed with a bolt way to large for a fill/drain plug and placed in a spot nearly impossible to get it?

BTW, LE-607 appears to be good stuff thus far....havent driven it with the top up much, but it seems like my diff is quieter. Replaced some type of 75w-90 in it to start with, but it was still clean and didnt smell abnormal (after 3 years and roughly 24k).

Yes, the fill bolt is a 23mm, and the drain is like a 22mm I believe. I just changed mine a few days ago as well. I had to go out and buy the tools the first time I changed it, lucked out and got them on sale at lowes one day. Some of the structure is in the way, but I wouldn't say It's inconveniently located. I found what works best for fill is a lube pump, can be found at auto parts stores, looks like the top of a lotion bottle with a length of plastic tube, and screws on to or atleast sits in bottles of oil. Makes filling easy.

Just making sure, I used a 1" end wrench and will likely buy a 23mm for future use and wanted to make sure. I tried to use a socket but couldnt find one shallow enough. I had a lube pump, so filling wasnt an issue but being that I have a garage full of tools I was shocked when I found something on a Honda I didnt have the right tool for.

Ya, I myself was surprised at the choice of size.

The bolt size isn't the problem really, but not making it accessible with a socket? Come on...
