Solid Motor Mounts?
Tried looking around for some info on these, can't seem to find much.. Does anybody have them in their car? If so, how do you like them, pros cons?
I recently did a b18c head on a b20b block and my car has terrible wheel hop 1st-3rd. A bunch of my buddies are telling me to go for the solid mounts, but im worried that it will make the ride extremely uncomfortable. I understand its only a 4 cylinder, so it can't be TOO bad, but I was hoping for some info from someone that actually has them..
Any input?

if you mount the motor solid then the tranny also should be mounted solid.if you will be spending time on the street i would advise energy suspension polyurethane mounts, pretty stiff but still has some vibration control.but if ur racing then go solid
That's what I was thinking. Buddies seem to know more than me though
Yeah, no good. A friend said its a eg tho, comfortability when out the window 15 years ago
I've heard mixed opinions about this. I've heard the tranny SHOULDN'T be solid, and I've heard that they SHOULD..
My mounts are pretty bad anyway, so instead of going solid, I wanted to just go really stiff.. I feel like things will go wrong if my entire chassis is under vibration all the time

look up hasport mounts they use a pressed aluminum which allows the motors vibrations to be dampened a bit more.
solid mounts your going to be putting more through your tranny which is a good thing...but having poly mounts means that they do absorb what could be potentially harmful initial shocks from your motor which could come from launches etc...so poly will give you an almost solid like driveline, while still keeping your frame safe from all the vibrations.

Solid mounts: great throttle response, unbelievably crisp shifting, and unless it is a dedicated track car you will rattle your brains out and hate driving it. On the street your mirrors are useless, the chassis resonates so loud you have to shut your car off to talk to someone and people think your car is a piece of **** which is a nice theft deterrent lol.

I saw that, I'm stuck between 62A and 70A. I feel like street may be too soft, but I'm not sure if race will be too much. Any clue?
i have the 62a on my b16 with my comp clutch stage 2 and the motor doesnt move. shifts are crisp, and most the power gets transfered nicely to the wheels. they have broken in alil and got a tiny bit softer, but not much...still no motor movement what so ever. highly recomend them
I got the diy liquid poly kit off of energy suspension (80A) for 30 bucks for my 94 eg d16z6. turned out real nice, shakes alot at idle and take off, but it doesn't bother me, but while im driving its cool. night and day difference in throttle response/shifting/handling. engine doesnt move at ALL like it used to when i rev it up . i would definitely recommend, cant beat the price.
im using these and theyre perfect.. just a little vibration, but nothing that will rattle ur teefs

I am currently running HASPORT 62a mounts and AVID 60a torque mounts. I am planning on switching to the HASPORT 70a inserts and the AVID 40a torque mounts then running traction bars to get rid of wheel hop. I want to build another track car in the worst way to use solid mounts because once you experience them it is love.
What do ya mean?
Awesome, that's what I'm looking for, I also have a stage 2 clutch, love the thing.
The 62a will stop motor movement, correct? I don't consider myself a hardcore street driver, but at the same time, I like the potentiel to be there.
I'm sure I'll be getting in touch with you guys, might just stick with the 62a's.
I'll look into those, thanks
