First off let me say hi I am the owner of a red 1993 del sol and a 1990 crx.

Now onto the problem I will be driving along in my del sol go to hit the gas and nothing happens. The engine is still running and when I hit the gas pedal a couple more times sometimes it will catch back and driving like normal or sometimes it will roll to a stop and then die. When this happens the car will sometimes start right back up or I will have to wait a while and then it will start.

I have checked I am getting fuel and spark the dizzy was changed two months ago but I checked the cap, rotor, igntion module, and ignition coil. I have checked and resoldered (just in case) my main relay. Replaced fuel filter and bought new ngk spark plug wires.

A little backround on my set-up d16z6 with greddy turbo kit running about 10psi tuned on crome with 440cc injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump.

 

Have any check engine lights? What type of dizzy did you replace it with?

 

no check engine lights and the distributor is a td-42u

 

this happened to an old chevy of mine before i got into hondas you may need to replace your throttle cable it could be fraying and stretching instead of pulling your throttle open and then when u stop itll have set to far back into place and youll get no fuel and die if your throttle cable isnt bad... good luck someone probably knows whats up

 

If i open the hood and get someone to hit the cable it seems to be working fine is there anyway I can tell if this is happening it looks normal.

 

Does the CEL work?

Have you tested the TPS on the throttle body?

 

yes the cel works I have gotten check engine lights before and I am about to go test that right now I will let you know

 

When you turn the key from off to ON(II), does the CEL turn on and then off after 2 seconds?

 

yes it comes on for two seconds and then turns off

 

tps sensor is perfect 0.49 at closed and 4.5x when open and gradually goes up no dead spots

I do get spark when this happens and I do get fuel this is the weirdest issue ever so i took out my pcv valve and i have no idea when last it was changed (previous owner) it looked like it was filled with gunk and was for sure bad changed that and took the car out and no problems yet from what i know a bad pcv valve should not cause that kind of problem is it possible?

 

What color was spark when the engine would not start?

When the engine won't start, do the injectors spray fuel?

No, a clogged PCV valve would not cause the problems you described.

 

injectors were working and spark was nice and bright yesterday the only things I did was change pcv valve because it was clogged and adjusted my fpr but with my adjustment it ran to lean in boost so i brought it back to where it was. Now everything works fine no problems do you think the fpr was backed up or something

 

so happened again today car was not even up to operating temp yet was coming to a stop car died wouldnt start and 10 min later it started up
