Default B16a temp sensor broke off

Can the sensor be removed without damaging anything? I need to know.

Wow, if memory serves me right this is not the best places to work (tight). If you use an easy out it will be hard to work in the area, it needs to be drilled in the center and dead straight too.

Is the car running funny, any codes?

The check engine light did come on and I'm pretty sure VTEC isn't engaging either.

There are three temp sensors on your engine:

On the thermostat housing: The 2-wire temp switch

Under the distributor: The 1-wire temp sender unit for the cluster and the 2-wire temp sensor for the ECU

Which one are you talking about?

The one i broke is the two wire sensor for the ECU I believe. It's under the VTEC Solenoid and plugs right into the water jacket.

if its the one that plugs into the thermostat housing just get another one.

you need part 5 - $11.20
and part 11 - $35.50

might as well get a new thermostat and gasket while ur in there. part 3 - $15.77

if its not that one , u either need part 10 or 12. and youre better off relocating it, instead of easy outting it out of the cylinder head. aluminum is weak.

That is not the one that broke, it is the one that lets the computer know the coolant temp.
