has anyone ever done a zc swap in a eg sedan

Im lookin into doin this swap, probably not til late nov. early dec tho. Would deffinately make for and interestin swap, plus the D16Z6 swap that came in my car is pissin me off.

 

I'm sure plenty of people have done this swap in the past. It's literally just an ordinary d series but with with a dual cam head.

 

Not all ZC's are dual cam there are single cam ZC's. Which one are you gonna swap in?

 

either way they drop right in. you can get a full dohc zc obd1 for about $800 plus shipping, including transmission. comes with everything you need including axles, jack shaft, and ecu.

 

im not sure yet ive just started thinking about junking my mini me and what to do something a lil different then everybody else

if your just gonna junk the motor, il take it

 

the dual cam ZC im lookin at is like $650-$700 just the motor tho. If your in new jeresy hit up JDM Engine depot. Ive heard nothin but great things bout them.

your welcome. Im sure if you if contact them they may ship it. miked123 if you want when i tear out my D16Z6 ill gladly sell in to you. the damn thing will be lucky if i dont blow it up.

 

keep an eye on ebay they pop up all the time. you can even spend a little more and get factory LSD. but you can always use a normal D series transmission as long as you use a 92-00 d series flywheel and clutch.

i say go for the single zc instead, i had a 92 hatch with a zc n its was hot, eat up duals all day beside the b18c1 they hot but you can hang with em, the dual zc and single are about the same horses just the single is light.

 

i like the single cam idea it all really depends on how much they cost

 

ive been reading on other forms and some people have been talking about a sohc vtec zc is this a real motor or just another mini me

 

its a real motor. its basically a d15b with higher compression i believe? someone correct me if im wrong.

 

anyone know where to get one ive looked and all i can find is dohc and sohc zc

 

I have a sohc zc in my ef si hatch with the si trans same ecu and it has plenty of umpff sohc zc's are not as abundant as they were years back on eb ay but dohc are.
I have installed an dohc zc in an eg sedan and its plug and plug just remember to get an obd-1 zc or if obd-0 then you will need the zc obd-1 intake and zc obd-1 dizz. I used a obd-1 pr4 to run it but the appropriate one to use the p29.
I am just putting the finishing touches on another dohc zc in my eg hatch (came with a bad water pump and did not know this until I had installed the motor) pm if you do get one and have questions.
