01' MDX Coil Packs Bad?
Our MDX has 114k on the clock, and I've noticed the fuel mileage has gotten worse the last 2-3k miles, and the power also seems to be down. I did a basic tune-up (laser platinum plugs, ran the complete BG fuel system and intake system treatment through it, and pulled the top of the i/m cover and cleaned the ports etc where the oil gathers inside it, changed the pcv valve, did a vacuum leak down to see if there were any leaks). The power go alittle better, but the fuel mileage isn't anywhere near it was b4 hand, even with the fuel treatment.
So, I got to thinking about the coil packs possibly being bad. Idle is alittle choppy as well, so I decided to throw in a set of 00' TL coil packs I had sitting in the garage. They came out of a 52k mile car that was in tip top shape. The idle instantly smoothed out, the engine was quieter during both idle and cruising, and acceleration was greatly improved. I didn't run them very long because their a different ohm based coil pack from what the stock ones are, and this was purely for experimental purposes anyway.
The minute I threw the stock coil packs in, back to the same choppy idle, hesitant acceleration, and the engine became more noisy. I called Acura, they said they shouldn't have to be replaced and they've never had to replace a set.
I have a hard time believing them, but at $65/ea and I need 6 of them, I wanted to ask some opinions first b4 I purchased some.

I see faulty coil packs all the time. Typically when they fail they will set a misfire code. However, they don't go bad as a set and only need replacement when they are faulty. So it's far more likely that there is 1 coil causing the issue and not all 6. Are any of the coils burnt?
