here's the deal, i'll get in my car and turn it on disengage the e-brake and the light will turn off like it should, but as soon as i start driving it the light will come back on and will stay on for a short distance and then it will just shut off by itself, but when i reach a stop and begin to accelerate the light will come back on, and this will continue for as long as i drive it, any ideas what could be causing this??

check your fluid and the rubber under it i had this problem

 

Clean out the res filter with clean brake fluid in a trash can. The filter is very fine.. JUST did this and filled up fluid and it fixed it.

 

This generally happens when the brake pads become worn and need replacing.

 

huh, i just did a complete brake service just a bout a year ago (replaced pads, rotors. New brake fluid and checked lines) but it was running slightly low on brake fluid topped it off and it seems fine for the moment

 

You either have a brake fluid leak or the brake pads are wearing unexpectedly fast.

 

i would check to make sure you haven't developed a leak somewhere. I found that my brake reservoir had become low just like yours one day and i checked all 4 corners with no signs of a leak. not very long after this did i find myself with ZERO brakes when the hard line down the center of the car ruptured. yea.. not fun to replace -_- lol
