BUILD Thread - Fox Marketing/Honda-Tech 12 Civic Si
Object: Get aftermarket manufactures to make parts so everyone can hook up their future 12 Civic also. Build a street car, not a trailer queen!
Debut: Honda Booth - SEMA 2011
Key Features: 550hp (est.) on Stock K24, Widebody, clean styling.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone at Honda-Tech for letting me showcase this future build for all to see. It's an honor to be on the largest, and most knowledgeable site on the planet.

I ordered the car in July from my local dealer here in York. The car got built on Aug 4th, and I FINALLY received the car so I could work my magic. The Tsunami really slowed down production for Honda which I understand.

The 12 Civic Si on the upper deck of the car carrier ready to come down. Now, I'm starting to get excited!!!

A block down the street is Mugsy's Repair here in York, Pa. I wanted these guys to do all my mechanical work because Rick (who owns the place) is a 20 years Honda Gold Certified Tech. He knows all these cars like the back of his hand. They have been working on my fleet of cars since 2004 for me now.

First thing we did was put up on the lift and get all the stock brakes off the car. Then, we laid out the SSBC Big Brake Kit for the install. I choose a 13 inch 4 piston caliper for the front and a 12.2 rear BBK upgrade.

You can really see the difference just in the rotors from the factory.

Rick works on the rear 12.2 inch 2 piston upgrade on the rear while I take a shot.

The Front SSBC kit looks awesome!

Next, on the menu was to lower the SI. I worked with Road Magnet from Baltimore to make me a 1.3inch lowering spring till theYonaka new Coilovers are made for the car also. All about options here people.

We put the car down the ground to make sure we didn't have any clearance issues. I really LOVE how the car sits now, and the SSBC Big Brakes fit inside the factory wheel/tire set-up.

Before the car left Mugsy's Repair, I decided to slap on the flare to make sure I got the offset of the new Vossen Wheels CV3's right. We did a 20x10.5 (they where out of stock on 18, and 19x10.5) so we had to go this way. Mugsy's then mounted and balanced them for me with 255/30/20's all the way around. I need a wider tire in the front or it is just going to spin.

After we did some test fitting we put the stock wheels back on the car to dolley up to Croll's Customs in Reading, PA.

It took about 50 minutes from Mugsy's to drive up to Josh's shop in Reading. For the next month, it will be at paint and body folks!!!

**UPDATE***9-23-2011 - Paint & Body
I took the Civic Si to Croll's Customs in Temple, Pa. to put my vision a reality. Josh and I went over the car with a fine tooth comb going over every detail of the design I wanted to see. I also decided to add some things which wasn't a big deal. The one side of the car is about done, and then next week he will work on the side side and get that finished up. Look for another update next week with more complete and close to coming together.

Once I saw the car in person, I saw the potential of the car. First of all it is the K24 which is based off the TSX, and that is a solid power plant. I want to make power first and foremost, looks are second in my book.
Trending Topics
I would have waited to get a smaller diameter rim. 20's are just to big. Should have waited for the 18's to come in stock or just pick a different rim. I have to admit the style of the rim is unique and I like it.
With the K24 having the header in the casting of the head. I would suggest just swapping heads and building the head while its off the car. Should be able to make much better power with a header on the car instead of the restricting stock mani.
Are you going with a wide body kit on the car? If so I would suggest just going with the flares and looking at it like that before you go with the wide body kit. The flares and wide rims give the car a crazy stance.
Good luck and keep the thread updated so we can see the progress.

Nice man, Wish you would have gone with 19x10.5 all around.. But 20's is good..
That's what i have on my Accord now Vossen Cv3's 20x10.5

You really don't need to Flare that much on the front but about 1 inch of flare is needed, and the rear Don't need a Fender Flare either you can get away with Pulling the fender and Flaring it.. Then just Bon and paint

Full-Race is working on those options and Geoff has that all figured out. We will be good for sure. But, who in their right mind is going to buy a new Si and switch the head to something else?? Probably few and far between. A complete bolt on turbo kit is what Full-Race is building because that is what the market wants. In October, their will be all the answers posted so stay tuned on that one.
I am designing the car around the wheel tire offset I wanted to have so I have contact to put the power to the ground. The flare will do a perfect job for achieving this goal.
I own one of these and I am interested in everything you do to yours, that way I can pick and choose what I want to do to mine, your car does look good black.
I took what was about to be built my car build date was 7/21, love the car but the suspension is on the soft side for an si.IMHO.

From what I've heard, the integrated mani is great for turbos. It sounds like a turbo kit is the way to go with the new Si's. I wouldn't mess with swapping the head unless you are NA and really need to squeeze out every last horse.
EXACLTY why I'm not doing that. Just makes no sense because it is going to work out great. 2nd week of October I will show everyone what is looks like and why Full-Race did what they did.
I wanted an 18x9, 10, whatever with the right offset. The problem was no one had them in stock in 18 or 19 and could get to me in Sept period. The first I could get an 18 or 19 would be in late October. The car has to be done by Oct 15th so that just wouldn't work. The WORK wheels I was going to do in 18's compared to the 20x10.5 VOSSEN was only a weight gain of 3lb's per corner. It really isn't that big of a deal, and they do not make the car look like a roller skate.

Youd be surprised what people do to new cars. And a turbo kit is the most economical solution to the mani problem.
Many people have 208,09,10 and possibly 11 civics swapping the block out to a k24 bottom end. So whats teh difference in switching out to k20 head or even a k24 head that dosnt have a cast in manifold?
Someone wrote on here you only should swap the head unless you need every once of power. Well if you look at the dyno graphs for the 8th gen a good header has neted around 20whp in some cases and sometimes more. So thats an easy way to gain some good power. With that option out the window because of the cast in mani you loose all that potential to make a nice dd N/A car.
Im am more pro towards N/A then turbo for dd cars.

It's out at powder coat, then ships on Friday here to PA for the install next week. Can't wait to see it all myself. Should be cool but you will not see the turbo tucked behind the firewall.
