Take them to the same place you got your car painted. Why do you make the easiest things out to be so difficult?

Then you'd better learn how to paint AND learn how to mention all this IN THE FIRST POST!!! Just say up front, that "I'm trying to be cheap. What's the best way to do that?" Just like every other one of your posts.

Next time you're thinking about paint make sure you have EVERYTHING you plan on painting ready at the same time.

100 dollars is a fair price to prep and shoot two pieces with a specific color. Ask what they want if you prep the pieces yourself (although most shops refuse to paint pre-prepped pieces.)

If you KNOW the color code, you could try a real 2 part auto paint in a pre-val sprayer. It would still end up costing a good 60-70 bucks but you would have some left over if you ever got a scratch...

Uh. If you say so. You have an HX that you're trying to pass off as an SI. My car outperforms and outhandles yours all day long. I don't cheap out on parts either.

I have a 1998 Civic LX, with a stock Y7 but I used sharpie marker to put V-TECH on the valve cover and found those metal mailbox letters at wally world so I riveted SI to my trunk. I'm so much better than either of your cars. Word.

Word. Word.
Painting my car is probably the LAST thing I have done.

At the moment, to be honest I mainly care about how I feel driving my car. Not too worried about what other people think of my poor little honda. Now that the engine is running well and I have some good tires on it, I could give a care less than my bumper can't fit well due to fender well rust. I've got new rear fenders sitting around but college has prevented me from welding in and the cold has prevented me from painting. Plus I need to source a hood and front bumper, which is difficult in my area.

Fully agree. Peer pressure is a bitch. Peer pressure and no money is a bitch and her mama.

I don't understand how a guy that supposedly just spent $1,300 to get his faux Si painted could turn around and call another $100 too much money.

I can understand why someone would be concerned by spending 1/13th to paint a part 1/30th the size but it is important to note that usually body shops will have to custom mix a new batch of paint, match it to the old paint and do an all over primer/base/clear job on the new part. Had the part been painted on the car, it would have likely only cost about 40 or 50$.

I don't. Paint and Body work isn't cheap. Poor planning on the OPs part. If they were on the car it would probably have cost him nothing. When it comes to builds, you can't make this stuff up as you go.

Yeah, it all depends on the body shop. Some body shops will charge more to take things off and mask/paint them, especially plastics (I know if I were doing a paintjob, I would likely charge a bit extra.) But regardless, 100$ is a fair price.
