I am taking this "push button" starting method is custom fab'd.
Can you verify the install is clean?( Need a DMM at least to check continuity)
Do you have some sort of kill switch on this car?
I always check the following: Fuel, Spark and Air... Make sure the basics are present.

if it were anything regarding fuel, spark, air, wouldnt it have trouble staying on or starting with a push method? Theres a good chance it could be connectings near the ignition. Take the steering column plastic off and start inspecting. Dont know if you checked the ground wire to the starter but i would make sure those wires are good.
There was another thread recently where FCM posted instructions on a few things to check. Ill see if i can find it real quick.

check grounds. did u unplug any of your ground cables? the one that goes over the valve cover is pretty important and without it usually the car will have the symptoms your talking about.
Sounds like the starter solenoid. The plunger gets stuck from corrosion and fails to make contact. It's apparently a common problem with these cars that comes with age. It isn't very hard to remove and rebuild with a kit. I did mine using a kit I found on Ebay.
In the mean time, you could try loosening the solenoid by repeatedly turning the key on and off, and holding it while in start position. That sometimes helped mine. (Not liable for unintended damage this may cause the electrical system, lol).
Could also be the fuel main relay, but I thought so with mine, and it wasn't the problem.

whenever you're push starting the car to have it run, you're bypassing the starting. If nothing else is wrong then I am quite sure 100% it's your starter. F&*K rebulding the starter solenoid, it's cheaper to just get another starter.
Importracegirl, try a bypass jump... https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...&highlight=fcm
