Autocrossing brake pads
I did a search and didn't find an answer to my question. I need some new rear brake pads for my 98 Integra LS. I want some pads that are a more aggressive. I use the car for autocrossing and daily driving sometimes. I am leaning towards the Hawk HP plus pads. I like what I have read about the performance and the price of the Hawk pads. I run my car in ST. Does anyone have suggestions for other pads that are similar?
I am running Hawp HP+ f/r on my 01 Integra that I autocross, they seem to have good initial braking. They are extremely dusty and squeal like mad. IMO Pads arent nearly as imprtant for autocross as they are for track days. OEM pads or equivalent should be fine, especially if its your DD.

I daily my car and average 3-5 HPDE's a year. I went from HPS's front and rear to HP+ front and HPS rears. I have now gone back to HPS's all around.
Yes they bite great and perform great. Daily driving them for me was horrible. Terrible dust, noise, and the dust compound ate away at the coating on my Si rims which I use for daily. I found myself washing my wheels every few days to keep any further damage from happening. I wash my track rims and tires after each session and luckily they didn't destroy them too.
If and when I can dedicate my car to the track I may switch back because it's use won't be so frequent.
Also, I had about 200 miles of daily driving before I went to Laguna Seca. Shortly after that track day I checked the pads and they were deystroyed, crumbling away. I called Hawk directly and they stated I may of had a lemon set or that I may not of had enough miles on them before they took significant heat. Didn't seem right, but they did email me a discount code to purchase new pads. Thought that was pretty stand-up and I'll continue to buy Hawk pads.

PBR/Axxis Ultimate pads are good for autox and not too aggressive for daily driving. They're also very cheap. They don't hold up to the heat on track days, however. I've used these on 2 Integras and an Em1. In fact I might have an old/used set of rear pads.
Its been the hot topic of the month.
I think we need to update the FAQ.
to include.
1.)In a Nooob,why should I not build a track car right away?
2.)Suspension set up for noobs. Everything you wanted to know but shouldnt do until i learn to drive a car bone stock.
3.)Brakes & Friction, and why you need to test to find the best pad for you.
4.) Street/ Track cars. they arent the same so dont compare them.
NO your car isnt a track car if the turn signal levers are still on the steering column.
5.) Spirited driving, why I shouldnt take part in it on the streets.
Is there something I am missing here? Please feel free to add you own "nooobs shouldn't do"
