EJ1 B18C TYPE R SWAP?
hi, im new to this forum, but ive been into honda for quite a while now, im planning to get a 95 civic coupe as soon as i get out of high school this year, i want to swap out the d series and put in an itr b18c, the only problem is i dont know what transmission i should put in. should i use an itr tranny or a b16? im lost, any advice?
Any b series hydro tranny will work. The vtec model tranny's have more aggressive gearing and both the b16a and itr tranny are pretty much the same thing except for an lsd differential
Your stock D-series transmission won't work with the B-series block. You'll need to change everything from the axles all the way back to the shifter.
And if your going to get a Type-R swap, definitely get the Type-R transmission. The LSD is well worth the extra couple hundred.

is this a smart choice for a swap? i know the b16 is cheaper and the h22 is a little stronger, and so is the k series but harder to do and more expensive, is there a better choice than the type r b18c? what about the h2b? b20?
