Default Torque converter locks up too soon

My 99 Accord EX, V6 with 90K shifts too soon and the torque convertor locks up at 30 mph causing the car to jerk. Is this a function of the transmission computer or maybe the TPS. There are no tranny codes. Thanks for any help Losone

This might sound silly, but are your EGR passages clean?

It's an electric/magnetic lockup similar to a how a relay switch works. I've never heard of the problem your having where it locks up before 4th gear? Usually if there's a problem, it will not unlock and when the car comes to a stop it will stall. Just like not pushing the clutch in on a manual. The jerking sounds more like a transmission problem to me but there's not enough info to know for sure.

To the op, sorry about this.....a 6th gen V6 auto with ~100k miles and you are having issues?

Change the fluid, clean the solenoids, say a prayer.

The transmission shifts into 4th about 30 and then the torque converter locks up at 32 causing the car to jerk. Pulling it into 3rd and it runs smooth. No jerking at speeds over 40. 90K miles and no check engine light. I guess the 1st choice as one thred answered change the oil and clean the shift soloniods. Thanks losone
