94 civic dx: Problem idling in drive and reverse
alright well i just recently got a 94 civic dx 1.5l coupe. ive been having some problems with it, the car starts, runs and drives fine until i get it warmed up to normal temp, it drives fine, accelerates fine its just when im stopped, it shakes really bad and alot of the time shuts off, this only happens if its in drive or reverse, if im in park or neutral its fine and only happens after car is warmed up. when i first got it the timing belt wasnt right so it was fixed, also replaced an O2 sensor, i got it checked out and the mechanic cant figure out whats wrong with it. any ideas
You just need to clean the IACV. See FAQ's.
The FITV is probably clean enough because your car runs fine when the engine is cold.
When the engine is warmed up and in gear (under load) the IACV helps control the idle.

Okay well i cleaned the IACV, and re-installed it. it seems like it might have helped it a little, it shakes, not as bad but still shakes, only now its all the time park, reverse and drive doesnt matter it shakes(for what its worth there was a box of stuff in the trunk with an IACV so im guessing the guy b4 me replaced it, the one one the car looks used.) Also when i accelerate i t now it feels like it bogs down and then clears up and takes off. Should i check the FITV? O2 sensor? Any ideas?
i checked the tranny oil its good.
