DC2 OVER HEATING(NOT A HOSE, RADIATOR, OR FAN)
So my teggie started over heating the other day. ive checked my fan, hoses and radiator no leaks or signs of small cracks. its causing my a/c not to blow cold. Is it my thermostat thats stuck? thanks
Sounds like you may have two problems, an overheating engine would not prevent the A/C from working properly.
Is engine actually overheating, [temp. gauge goes past normal, past 1/2 way point] or are you assuming it is overheating because A/C does not work?
There is a common problem with Honda/Acura, [and other makes] that will cause the A/C to not work properly, [other then an A/C problem].
If your A/C seems to work properly when you first start the car but slowly starts blowing warmer and warmer air as engine warms up, then you have a problem with the water valve... http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...ystemcomp=List All&vinnoT=&trim=&trans=&view=normal your heater temp. control cable goes to it, make sure cable moves valve lever, you can also "pinch off" one of the hoses that goes to the heater core, if A/C works, replace the water valve even if cable moves the lever.
If engine temp is actually going up over normal then replace the thermostat, they are cheap, you can also see if thermostat opens by removing rad cap, start engine, allow it to come up to temp., [rad fan turns on] you should be able to see, [through the rad cap opening] the coolant flowing, if not repalce the thermostat, and check it again, if still no flow, time for a new water pump. 94
