engine bay smells like coolant and i see the smoke b20
ok so people from the efcivicsedan.com know about what happend 2 weeks ago. Basically all of my lugs broke and my caliper and front tow hook drug on the ground for about 5-8 yards. new spindle went on because i got a deal on it with a new ball joint. so here we are ready to drive. i drove the car today up the street to see how it rode and it was fine besides being a little sluggish on the way out but felt fine coming home. i pull up at my apt and notice smoke coming from under the hood, i look under the car and i see coolant dripping. it looked to be dripping from the back of the motor but i didnt see any hoses with a hole that would drip that much (steady half second drip) i was tired of messing with the car so i took a break and came back. i remote started my car and it ran for the full 12 minutes and i noticed my fan wasnt cutting on and my temp gauge got to a little over half way. i put the key in and started it up and the car acted normal and cooled back down to just below half way. odd thing was when the car cut off from its 12 min run coolant poured out of the rad cap.
my question is where the hell can the coolant be coming from? when i drove the car a second time tonight up the street to the store it wasnt smoking when i got there but when i went home and stomped it in the parking lot for like 2 sec i cut the car off and left the hids on and saw smoke again. could it have just been more coolant coming out of the radiator cap?

also, head gasket has maybe 50 miles on it with arp head studs and water pump ALL NEW. radiator cap is about 6 months old and i did overheat the **** out of my car like 3 times before i shaved the head and did the headgasket and that was the same radiator cap.
Did you change the thermostat when you did all that work? Does your overflow tank bubble when your car is running? There is only a few things that could cause the symptoms you describe - bad water pump, blown headgasket/cracked head/cracked block, possible bad/blocked thermostat, ect... things of that nature. Feel your upper and lower hoses - are they different temperatures? The symptoms you describe with the runability, sound more like internal engine problems.
thermostat was changed at the same time yes. funny thing is the problems didnt start till my wheel popped off and my car sat for a little over a week.
was the dripping coming from back of the block near the firewall? theres an o-ring seal around the thermostat housing pipe to the water pump theres another o-ring seal on the other end of the pipe.
Iv had a similar problem which i found out one of the coolant hoses that run from the intake manifold to the firewall had a .5 inch split. Did you really look around thoroughly? I'm not saying you could have same issue but it never hurts to check more than 5 times haha

Best way I find leak is when car is warmed up and cooling system is pressurized. Coolant will shoot out from leaking area.
You could also use your radiator pressure tester to put a few pounds on the system with the front end in the air. This is better and safer because you can see and reach places without fear of getting burned...
Im used to work on hot engines. If u don't have a radiator pressure tester just warm the engine up. It works just as good.
