bbs wheel guru's please chime in!
So i have a set of BBS rs 15x6.5 +17 and i wanted to get a 2in lip for it for the rears. Im aware that would make the rims 15x8, but would the offset change or would it still be +17? TIA!
This isn't really a BBS-only question, to be fair.
Anytime you increase a wheel's dimension on only one side of the wheel's mounting hub, you will be altering the offset. Offset is a measurement from the center of the wheel, not the face of the lip.

6.5" rim becomes a 7.5" rim with an extra 1" added to the outside. That means the center of the rim (0 offset) will now be 1/2" closer to the outside. So the new 0 offset is now 1/2" closer to outside of lip than before. 1/2" = 12.7mm
So old offset of +17mm will now be 12.7mm less because the center of the wheel is 12.7mm closer to the outside lip edge. 17mm - 12.7mm = 4.3mm is the new offset
