94 Accord ABS Issues
Hey Guys,
I have a 94 Accord EX. About every 60 seconds or so, I hear a buzzing from under the hood. I am positive it is coming from the ABS pump. I am NOT low on fluid, and I have bled the ABS reservior. Braking at times get really mushy. What can I do to get this squared away?
Thanks Everyone!

I have the same sound on my accord. Not sure why it's happening, but was told by a mechanic a few years ago that my modulator is going out. Not sure if that's related. No issues with mushy braking.
I have the exact same problem. i was told it was my master break cylinder!! Not positive but that would make sense since its not pumping fluids through my system correctly!!
You may have bad master cylinders. When you refer to mushy brakes, does the pedal go all the way down to the floor? If so, then your master cylinder is bad. This only applies to the automatics. Not sure about the manuals.
Would this be relevant to your ABS issue?

Thanks Mike, You are always right on the money with your posts. That noise you are hearing is the ABS system pressurizing. It usually does this only on start up. If it's doing this continually, you probably have a leak (modulator) that's causing it to lose pressure. Read the links Mike posted.
I will read that and try whatever it says to try. I will also replace the master cylinder as well because it will be nice and shiny. That being said, I dont lose any fluid. It is at the same level it has always been at, and i check it regularly. Thanks for to help guys!
In my case, I didn't loose any brake fluid. The problem was with the fittings inside the master cylinder. There was no pressure in the pedal to really stop. Do you know when the last service was done to the master cylinder? Mine went out @ 150k which was approximately 2003-2004. When you complete service, you can test the abs by driving on a open street or parking lot. Get up to around 60-70 mph and slam the brakes. Good luck.
ABS works sometimes. After you hear the notorious click under the dash the light comes on and stays on for a while. It will turn off whenever it feels like. Also, sometimes the brakes are really firm and sometimes they are soft. Usually they are best when the car is still cold. I am going to replace the master cylinder, and flush the fluid and see if that fixes it. If not i will tear down the ABS block.
