Default Test Pipe and the stock cat...... differences

I just put on a test pipe (with the help of Steve).
testpipe
testpipe.com

they send me the test pipe, but it has two O2 holes.
they should send me a plug for the O2 hole. as it stood I couldn't find anything to fit the stupid hole. The threading was all jacked up, so I had to basically force the end of a spark plug in there to fit and plug the hole.

the O2 sensor doesn't like the air in there so it's setting off my check engine light

If I'm running a company I'm going to include a plug for the second O2 and maybe both or also put some sort of cap in there for the O2 sensor so it doesn't freak out.

oh well

as far as the sound goes it isn't very loud just at idle or just cruising. it does get a bit louder than normal when you semi hit the accelerator.

if you punch it you can tell a difference, but it isn't bad.
the smell isn't great, but it isn't that bed either.

when the VTEC kicks in you can hear the air shoot out of the exhaust a little harder (almost like a really hard silent fart)

at about 60+ mph it makes the car vibrate a bit more (feels good on the nut sack).
the biggest difference between cat and test pipe is when I let off of the gas.
it is really throaty and deep?

butt dyno-seemed to get up to 100mph pretty darn fast getting on the freeway.

for $40 dollars? why not
get a high flow cat also
test both and see which works best then sell the other one.

oh yeah.... don't bother emailing testpipe.com because they don't respond or at least have yet to respond (2 weeks).

they are a nice diff. the cel is inevitable unless they did something to stuff the bung with cat amterial , but its normal and those plugs are only a few buck at any ehxaust shop, now you got an extra bung for a wideband when tuning .

yeah that is great, but why not include the plug with the hardware?

That should be interesting to watch the back of your car from time to time.

Common - do some research before buying something like this. 90% of them set of CEL's unless the bung is stuffed with Cat-Type materials as stated in post #2.

If I'm running a company I'm going to include a plug for the second O2 and maybe both or also put some sort of cap in there for the O2 sensor so it doesn't freak out.
Should've just ordered one from Dave at SMSP. Or, start your own company and do as stated above.

the smell isn't great, but it isn't that bed either.
Should go away within a week or two.

Test pipe is too big, or your O2 sensor is angled and resting on the shift linkage.

I've got a Gutted Stock cat..... Works pretty good..... DON'T waste your money on a Comptech POS high flow cat..... Mine lasted about 12000 miles, the screens fused together and restricted air flow.....

However, I still have this Gutted Comptech cat, if anyone wants it, let me know....
