Default Boost by Gear vs Boost Controller

I would like to know if anyone who is boosting their time attack car or autox uses these features. Did it help or hurt your time? Is BBG worth it or just a regular boost controller all that is needed with a good foot?

Really depends on your setup and how the turbo comes on if you will be able to control the power with your foot. My setup is not on BBG yet and may or may not use it as I have been working out all the other bugs before we take it off the gate. I do believe with a fwd and anything over 300~350 whp and I think you need to have a way of controlling power. Im on 11-13 psi on a gt3071r-wg with 17x9 235/40 r888 and can burn the tires out of the corner pretty easy, I could not imagine 20~24 psi and me trying to tame it in the corners .

any reason why the 76? What motor, car, and specifically what wheels and tires are you planning on running?

i will have a 2.0L motor (84mm x 89mm). The shodan told me it will work well with the 2.0L

It definitely needs to be a progressive BBG for it to work well with road racing or time attack

Just wondering how beneficial it would be for the same car to have consistent same boost to BBG

I'm pretty sure I answered how beneficial it WOULD be to have it, especially depending on your fuel, manifold setup, and with a larger turbo your going to have a harder time keeping the tires from not melting out of the corners if it makes 20~psi at any given point.

what engine management will you be running? i think it would be extremely beneficial if you could run boost by rear wheel speed thru the stock rear abs sensor. i would love to do this, but currently Hondata S300 does not support this...as far as i know that is. boost by gear off the vss is beneficial but will need fine tuning so that wheelspin doesn't "trick" the ecu into thinking it should add more boost thus causing more spin. i have seen it set up using the vss where wheelspin is virtually eliminated, but that was in a straight line application. coming out of a corner is very different.
