ok buddy put together motor portflo head freshly done decked block....jdm b18c itr pistons skunk 2's. so it starts and barely runs try to give it gas and it might get some but wants to die. timing marks line up, but with the milled head and decked block do i need to set them different then on the oem marks?? compression is 220 across, has spark, and fuel. runs super rich. what are the symptoms of either valve/piston interference or bad timing? it backfires and stutters, and will only barely take a bouncing idle when warm. ive put together many motors and fixed many problems in my day, but never messed with modified blocks. no cel at all, tried 3 computers, all sensors hooked up.

Guess the point of this is does timing need to be different for this setup??? or just align the marks on cams and oil pump and go??

Which SK2 cams? Some of them definitely need to be degreed.
