Real high prices for used EP3's, right now.
I'm looking to sell my EF hatch and upgrade to a EP3 as my DD. I have a S2000 as my
garage queen. Anyway, even though the Ep3 gets a lot of hate, I always had a soft spot for it. I read an article saying used car prices are up, but what they are asking for a EP3 is ridiculous. Sure there are deals on Craigslist for $4500- 5000, but a lot of people are asking $7000 +. I did a nationwide search and plenty were $8000-9000 too. Almost Ap1 prices. I'm hoping with the new 9th gen. Civics, prices decline a little. $10k for a 04 with 110k miles is a ****ing rip off, when u can find 03 Ap1's, priced similarly. Base Rsx's are cheaper, a lot of the times. But my Fiancee's mother has one. WTF

youre right its the same thing for all dc5s and ep3 where i live too. cant seem to find nothing for less than 7k or 6.5 at best. theyre overpriced, and its hard to find good deals, best thing you can do is have the cash ready when the deal comes up. might be a bucket or a well taken care of car but thats up to you...
one thing about the EP3 is that you have to remember it's a rarer car then lets say the EM1 is... you don't see many on the road and that makes them more valuable...
and i remember 4 months ago a from ephatch did some research and he said all ep3 prices went up even in blue book i forgot the reason why but im happy i bought one LOL

and the reason why i choose this car over rsx cause its a rarer car even tho the engine is less powered than a type-s its still a sweet car and really fun to drive and yeah i can always swap the engine but the only problem is i dont have money right now LOL
got mine last year for 7500 111k miles
good condition, brand new tires, new brakes.
only thing is the lca bushings went out. i spent 300 on stiffer bushings and the install costed 150. while i was at it i spent 750 on rsx aspec suspension
all in all...costed me 8500-ish for a perfect condition ep3
im about to spend 100 on new floormats...but thats just because i want them brand new looking. the ones in there arent in bad condition just not new condition

Just picked up an 03 for $4500 and it came with the factory rims, Motege rims/tires, skunk2 coilovers and Koni shocks. I've changed all the fluids out, battery (died yesterday) and the belt on the passenger side. I've got about $800 in on mine and still fixing things. I had a female owner and man she didn't know how to take care of a care. The Clutch fluid and brake fluid was BLACK.
There's a couple 04-05 SI around me going for $8000-$9000 with 65,000-100,000 miles on them. These cars are in exccellant shape, but no one wants to pay that much. I would pay it for the car that had the miles close to 65,000.
Good luck in finding one.

I just got a letter in the mail from my local Honda stealership offering to buy my car because I'm one of a few select owners in the region that has an '05 EP3.
YOU'LL NEVER GET MY CAR BACK HONDA, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I was looking online to see how much rsx would be on cl but in dealer section and I found a base rsx with 111k for 18,000 I was like wtf for a base f that I got my 06 type s for 15gs with Only 43k miles on it
That's not high at all considering an 04-05 with 70k-80k kbb's for $10k. I just picked up a mint '04 si, 72k miles, a k20a2 swap, kpro, f2's, 3" exhaust, new tie rods/ball joints/poly bushings for $7500. The best part about the 02-05 si's is the cheaper insurance. Not sure if it's my age group or something but an identical year type-s was $600+ more per year because every 18yr old drives a type-s into a telephone pole. The si's are rare, mostly owned by an older crowd, slow and are in generally good shape.
id be happy with 7k for my 02 w/93k on it, prob wouldnt take any less than 7k. i put it up locally for a stupid high price to see if i would get any bites; only a couple. but its clean, i dont drive it in the winter, and have most of the stock parts.
On Autotrader, there quite a few going for $10k +. Most with a 100k miles. But book values are up. Em2's are priced just below the EP3. I might just keep my white EF hatch( which is for sale by the way). The Ep3 would become another project. I just wanna cruiser. HFP lip kit, wheels and 2 12's in the trunk. I have the S2k if I want to go quick.
Personally.. I don't think its worth getting an EP3, just because everyone whos got em, wants WAY too much money for them.. You can get a premium model rsx with the SAME engine for 3 4 k less or more depending on where you live. You can spend 10k and buy a rsx-s which has a better engine, suspension, gear shift location ect ect. Don't get me wrong I think the EP3 is nice, my first two cars were 00 Civic SiRs and I loved both of them, I wanted to continue being apart of the civic nation but ended up going with a DC5 instead which was less money and better, in my opinion.

good hunting finding a mint k20a2 ep3 btw!
i found an ep with a k20a2 in it, but it was not by any means mint...
interior seats were all worn and dash was scratched...few small scratches on exterior
probably cost me 2-3k to make it mint
so then i just decided to find a mint ep3 instead
i bought my 2004 ep3 last December, payed $ 8991 for it. it came with full exhaust with header and intake. only had 82,000 miles on it when i purchased it. its my DD, i plan on swapping a k24a2 motor with turbo kit next year. I will start my offical ep3 build theard soon probably in December after i get kpro.
I got my blue ep3 not too long ago for 4500, had a dent on passenger 1/4 panel, but I fixed and painted the whole car over. But I am hooked up on paint jobs cause my dad owns a body shop, so it only coated me 300 bucks to paint it. Also needed new front struts, cost me 130 bucks. Other than that, it needs new door actuators for my power locks, that's it! Oh yeah, maybe a new stereo, cause cd player wasn't working.
