Default 1989 CRX with B18A1 to B16 swap

Ok, So I recently bought a 1989 CRX (Wanted one for year so was so stoke to finally get it) with a B18A1 swap from a 1991 Integra. Now, after having the car for a few weeks I'm noticing black smoke as I roll to a stop and oil all over the front of the engine where the headers are. I'm pissed right off at the guy I bought it from cuz it was nice and clean when I test drove it and didn't notice any issues whatsoever; but that's beside the point. I've been doing lots of research on the different Honda engines and have decided to take on the project of doing a swap (gotta get me a VTEC!). So now I'm wondering how much hassle it's gonna be to swap in a B16 after having already been converted to the Integra engine. Is it even worth it? Or should I sell my car and buy an all original CRX and do the swap from there?

Any and all input is welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Wow... you... have... a... lot... to... learn... Do yourself a favor and get on a website called www.google.com and read, read, and read some more. You can search the forum as well...

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/88-91-crx-ef-civic-frequently-asked-questions-faqs-1508680/

You should already know the B16 will drop in it's place and all you need to do is add the 5 wires to make VTEC work (OBD-0) Knock Sensor, VTEC Pressure Switch, VTEC Solenoid, 2nd O2 Sensor...

you can keep the integra motor and convert to vtec with some parts. its called ls/vtec. do some more researching and after you learn a little more, and ask better questions you will get more help.

um i'd do a good ls/vtec build

but seeing as you don't know a lot, you spend the same amount getting it built/tuned as you would paying someone to swap in a b16.

its really up to you.

After doing some reading I think taking on the LS/VTEC build is a little out of my league (for now, at least). Also, like I said previously, this b18a1 already seems to have some issues; puffing some smoke also.. So I like the idea of getting a B16 with <40,000 km on it and having a final product I can pit faith in without spending an arm and a leg on first redoing the b18, and then add the vtec.

Yea, she's my daily driver. I'm moving in a week and will have the opportunity to uninsure it to do as I please and use a different vehicle. It's a great opportunity. So now I'm looking for a good vendor to buy my b16 from.
