Overheating issue? / Power steering randomly cutting out?
Okay so first of all the car is a 1990 integra DA with b18a1 turbocharged.
175000 kms.
Took the car on its first actual long trip (4hours of driving), on the way down around half way i stopped in a city to grab food and noticed i did not have power steering anymore.
got out and checked the fluid and it was fine, belt was on and tight, started the cap up and checked the fluid.. no movement so i assumed power steering pump.
made it the way down to my destination with no power steering and i also started to notice that the car was running a little bit hotter than normal (thermo normally reads just under half way and was reading a bit over half at this time)
had a good weekend and packed up ready to go home and around 45 minutes in to the drive back i notice that my thermostat was starting to read just over half way when cruising at 120-130km/h. Continued to watch it and it slowly started to climb.
I than slowed down to around 100km/h and turned my heat on full blast and opened my windows and the car cooled down to normal, This continued for the next 3 hours until i arrived back home.
let the car idle for the turbo when i got back (the thermo was just under half when i stopped) but than noticed after a couple minutes the thermostat was reading almost at full!
Coolant level is fine, in the resivior and radiator.
If anybody can shed some insight on my power steering issue and heating issue that would be great, im not sure were to start.

Power steering will be the pump.
The overheating could be any of a number of things.
First thing I would do is test or just replace the thermostat, they are cheap enough.
Make sure water pump is working, you can see this by removing rad cap and starting engine, allow it to warm up and watch for coolant flow in rad, and make sure rad fan turns on.
Just in case, bleed the coolant system to make sure there is no air in the system. 94

The water pump/timing belt got changed just over a month ago with genuine honda parts so i really hope that its not the water pump.
I will bleed the coolant system and fill it back up, and try the water pump idea and ill get back to here.
thanks!
The thermostat can be checked by dropping it into a pot of boiling water you will be able to see if it opens.
If pump is new then if you do not see coolant flowing in rad, the problem is the thermostat.
Is the rad fan turning on? 94
