wat is ur goal for the second motor?
hp wise?
wat is it gonna be use for?
ect ect....

if u still planning to stay b-series, 240hp is pretty good already, u can get maybe 20-30more hp only outta of these b-series if u using the 87-89 stroke, otherwise u need a bigger stroke to get more hp and tq.

whats your budget?

a 2liter will be much easier to get 210-220, altho a 1.8l can do too but require much more work and right combonation of parts to get that hp.

for a 2L i will do

stock gsr/b16 head
refresh the valve job
stage2 cams
stiffer valve springs/stock retainers
itr/skunk2 or jg victor x manifold
65-68mm tb
440cc injectors
a decent header

b20 block
rs machine ITR spec 84-85mm pistons
stock rods
arp rod bolts

this should net u around 200hp with about 140tq the least

if you are doing a 1.8l build, i suggest you get the head ported from someone reputable if you have the cash to do so. The head is the most important part in making power when you are using a smaller displacement block. But dont try to have someone make a head flow 300cfm+ for you, it dosent work that way, heads that flow good are mostly for Big bore/big stroke race engines/track stuff, the seat width are usaually made thinner on high flowing heads than heads for street engines, so it will pound that thin seat out in no time and also depending on some head porter, they hack the valve guides and boss to flush up with the roof of the ports leaving only the valves visible inside the ports which imo is no good, it doesnt keep the valves stable and will cause the valves and guides to wear out faster. Get something that will match up with your parts, the right combo of parts will net you with the best results.

The type r heads cost more and the power gain from it is not that much different from a b16 head, only thing you get thats better are the stiffer valve spring and better design light weight intake valves. If you are short on budget, use a b16/gsr head and send it out to someone reputable, telll them your engine specs and just have them hook u up on the right custom valve job profile, thats all you need. They usually run u about 250-300 bucks on the good ****, but its worth every freaken penny.
