so i just pulled my engine because the stock dx trans finally died and i bought an SI trans. now when i put the engine back in and hooked it all up my CEL is on and i cant find the jumper to pull the code. can some one please help me locate it.

 

If you can't find the SCS jumper, (it could have been removed), then you need to find which wire is the SCS wire and simply ground it to pull the code. Here's a link to help you locate the wire.

If the car still has an OBD0 ecu, the light is on the ecu itself. Pull back the carpet on the passenger side to see the ecu.

 

 

In running a p28 ecu idk how to tell if its obd1 or obd2. I found the scs wire right from the ecu and grounded it. Im getting code 16. But i read that if its obd2 the code is generic and useless. But if its obd1 then code 16 is fuel injectors and it wont start. Idk where to start with the injectors. I kno i have gas and spark. Idk about compression thought
