Default Need help with tire jump?

I have no idea what you call it. But everytime i try burnout my tires dont scream, they just go thud-thud-thud. It seems like they just jump off the ground. Even pulling into second they go thud-thud-thud. How do i fix this? Its dropped 1.75 to 2 inches on what im guessing are just springs. I just got the car so i dont know what its got for suspension.

This is called wheel hop. Either you have worn shocks or motor mounts....or youre launching the car at too low if a RPM. You can break a lot of stuff with wheel hop. So be careful.

I also notice this problem in my car. Mainly does it when I try to bark 2nd or 3rd. Feels like the engine is about to come through the firewall. Had a friend drive it and he said it seems to be the stage 3 clutch. But I dunno...

Motor mounts and/or shocks, I would check both.94

Dropping it over 1" with stock or cheaper aftermarket shocks can *eventually* damage the shock beyond repair. Once they're blown, they offer no dampening. No dampening and your springs do as you describe.

Same for a bad motor mount. THe tires catch, the motor moves, stops, then breaks the wheels loose until the engine rocks back the other way.

Energy Suspension mount inserts work great, as do their suspension bushing kits. FOr shocks, you may need illuminas or koni yellows depending on your roads and spring rates.

It could definitaly be both. Because it is a smoother ride them most dropped cars i have riden in. And my motor shakes quite a bit when idleing and my friend told me i probably had a bad mount.
