Default Cloud of white smoke out intake manifold

went over to work on my buddy dc integra he had siting for 3 months put everything together an on the attempted to start a big cloud of white smoke came out the intake manifold. looking for ideas what would cause this i was thinking it was sucking oil into the manifold but how?

More likely to be a coolant leak, I say this from the white smoke, did you tighten down the head to specs? could be a leaking head gasket from not mating right to your block.

the head should be on the right specs because we didnt remove that we left that on but might be from the coolent leak because there a crack on the bottom of the radiator but not a big leak we filled with water before start

is there only white smoke visible coming from the manifold or are there any other areas its coming from?

the smokes coming straight out from the TB and thats the only place it was a big puff cloud an i had to hold the TB to let all the smoke out that was left in there

does it do this continuously? did you spray any type of solvent or carb cleaner in there it could be residue. try letting it run for awhile to see if it burns off.

nope didnt spray anything in there it has a hard time staying runing im not by the car right now but ill try that tomarrow see if it still does it or burn it all away

any idea of why it wont stay running unless you keep reving it an when you let the throttle go right before it cuts off it well idea at 3000

I think your intake manifold is not sitting right letting water get inside. That would also cause a vacuum leak. That would also explain the engine not running right.

could be^ but he stated he never touched the head, was this motor running 100% before it was sitting? sounds like air/fuel mixture is not right, when you say the engine cuts off. so no more white smoke?

Sounds like bad timing. the white smoke is fuel vapor meaning the car is some how backfiring

This ^. Check your mechanical timing, sounds like it may have skipped a tooth. Thats the only situation where I've seen this happen with the smoke.
