L or straight shaped heater/water cable?
I have googled this over and over. The cable that connects to the valve (to adjust the heat) in the engine bay. Should it be L shaped or straight? Every picture I have seen on google its straight. However I have a JDM crx with auto aircon so I dont know if there is a difference. I now have fixed the motor to pull the cable, but it only moves the valve slightly.
Thank you for your assistance with my never ending heater/ac issues.

Not sure about the straight vs L-shape.
Is there slack in the cable?
Right when the motor starts spinning, the valve lever should start moving.
Theoretically you should be able to make any valve work as long as the motor is strong enough to operate it.
If it is the cable is moving immediately when the motor starts, maybe the cable is getting kinked up and the motor isn't able to rotate fully. Try disconnecting the cable from both ends and make sure if moves freely - lube won't hurt. Reconnect to the motor, but not the valve. Activate the heater to full HOT and then activate to full COLD. Take note for how the cable on the valve side looks when it's completely in and completely out. That will tell you how far the lever can move and then you can see what needs to be done to get it to work right.
(Man... it's one of those things I have all worked out in my head for how I would approach it, but it's difficult to put in writing. Hope this makes sense.)
