would placing a generic brand short ram intake on a stock crx si cause a lean A/F ratio?

no i didnt do it for any performance reasons i just got the car from a friend and it didnt have the stock intake and i couldnt find one to purchase or at a junkyard near so it was all i could afford and needed it to run haha

thanks!

no, it should give you some slight gains.

guessing off my head.
anywhere between 3-5% fuel economy and power improvement.

these cars normally run pretty lean at highway speed when they're warmed up. what makes you think there is a problem?

getting a check engine light for code 1 (o2 sensor) every 300 miles (more or less) so thinking that the less restrictive intake is letting more air then its stock ecu is tuned to so its running lean and when the ecu tries to fix it in its long term fuel trim after x amount of miles it gets outside of parameters and throws the code

replace the o2 sensor. i've run just about every intake out there and never had a CEL or lean issue

Do you happen to have a ceramic header on the engine?
DC header was notorious for being too efficient at dissipating heat.
The O2 would not heat up properly and O2 codes popped quite often.

i replaced the o2 sensor a week ago and still got the o2 code
check continuity of the o2 wire: good!
my fuel pressure is good so i eliminated that suspect (unless injectors or clogged)
and nope still have the stock manifold and exhaust system on

Any exhaust leaks?
Air filter dirty?
Ignition in good condition?

Can you remove your spark plugs and take a pic of them (or readt hem yourself if you can)?

Could be running rich rather than lean.
Maybe run some injector cleaner.

exhaust leak is doubtful but a maybe when i get access to tools i want to go through it
but air filter is clean
distributor is brand new from distributor king (think thats what its called) so ignitor should be in rockin condition
just replaced spark plugs and the ones before were a light brown color so according to that i was running good.

new plugs i pulled yesterday and they were just white, could be because they are new

just wondering if the intake would mess with things like the MAP

i did get the car really hot and then test the o2 sensor

the voltage drops to .001 when revving
and .85 when idle
so figured something wasnt right
