Bud's Machine & Engine Shop, anyone heard of it?
Just had my bare block hot tanked a couple days ago at Bud's Machine and Engine Shop in Lakewood for just over $50. I'm planning on having my cylinders bored to 81.5mm and it'll run about $80 or so for all four from this shop.
Anyone ever use this place for boring and honing?

There is a guy here in kitsap county that had all his engine machine work done at bud's. Hit over 700hp with it before he moved on to a differant car (domestic). I have heard nothing but good things about them. If I was serious about going over 500hp or need any other machine work, I would personally use them.
Holy friggin crap! 700 wheel horse power?
They seem to have pretty low prices compared to other shops. I think I'll be sticking with em and recommending them to others!

heard a couple of over-bore issues, he's damaged pistons in the past, etc. I've personally used him once and that was because DG couldnt fit me into their schedule. It still took bud nearly 2 weeks to bore/hone my block.
Speedfactory took my D16 to get Hot tanked, deck, and cleaned for my turbo build that was 4 yrs ago and the motor is still holdin strong, its a DD running on 21 PSI.
Machine shops are one of those places where some people have good experiences and some don't. The consistancey just isn't there with machine shops for some reason. My current motor was bored to 85mm by Buds 3 years ago and it's still holding up fine at around 900whp. Recently I've had my machine work done at DG and I have zero complaints with them.
