Default DIY muffler from scratch?

I want to make my own muffler. I want it to have a trap door to re pack it.
I tried looking up prices but couldn't figure out what kind of sheet metal to use.
Can anyone tell me if its feasible or would it be too expensive?

It's totally possible we've been making our own mufflers stainless and titanium. Depending on how far you want to go with producing each piece, I know Burns Stainless makes a removable "cap" to do something like your talking about for repacking. What are you trying to do besides re-pack it? Are you going to slip-roll your own sheets?

Not repackable but this is the type that were making for our 350Z dual exhaust in titanium...
