ALARM keeps Going Off 02 Accord Coupe SE
Sounds like there might be a short in the wiring somewhere. There is one way I can think of to shut down the alarm until you can check all the wiring, remove the fuse. There should be a fuse in the system that will disable the alarm.
Unplug the hood latch. 9/10 times that is the issue. Customers come in all the time with this problem. Its easy to do and it will tell you if that is your problem.

Open your hood and look for a little plunger that has a wire on it. It will probably be on the outside edges, probably near the headlights.........
Disconnect it

I see a rie infront of the radiator an dunder the hood latch that is connected to a green coloured box (guessing the outlet) however i is hard to unplug it since its a tight position.
Would it be ok to just cut the wire?

I wouldn't cut it, I would unplug it......
I'm not sure if that's the sensor though. It probably is but since I'm not 100% I wouldn't cut it.

I have the same problem with the horn going off on its own. Tried to unplug the wire from the hood but I couldnt figure it out. The wire is so short and there's hardly any room to manuever. Do you straight unplug it or is it clicked on/ ;atched? I just couldnt unplug it. Should I try again to unplug it or should I just clean the grease off the hood latch? I cant have the car going off at night again. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Hey i was the SHIFTSHAPA who initially posted here.
What i used was BRAKE PARTS cleaner and used it all over the HOOD LATCH to get rid of the grease and then my alarm problems went away.
I assume the grease was shorting out the hood latch/hood as a conductor and was then causing the car to get the alarm.
