Default A6 Harness

Hey guys, Im thinking something is wrong with the wiring on my 89 civic dx after I did the DPFI to MPFI swap. I had it professionally done. using the stock dx harness, and adding two injector clips. But I dont know what it could be. Im getting to much fuel washing the pistons on number 1 & 2. I was just wondering if it is the wiring, would I be able and how hard would it be to switch from the dx to SI wiring. Thanks

How hard would be going from DPFI to a MPFI wiring harness you ask? Well, depends on your skill and knowledge - but you would need to swap the vehicles wiring front to back... You are better off fixing your current harness. Professional huh? I hate that word with a passion.

For starters what OBD are you? What ECU are you running? Have you even began to check the pin outs? We can't see what is going on ESPECIALLY with the wiring from behind this computer screen.

Yea after I did a hack job with my DX harness, I just gave up and swaped my entire harness with an HF one. Honestly it was a total biatch to do but I got it done and it works perfectly. It really does take a long time and is frustrating. I had to pull the entire harness from pick-n-pull, then pull my harness then install.

Interesting... If you would have actually looked through that link you WOULD HAVE found EVERYTHING you need to know... There are over 6 different write-ups on how to do the DPFI to MPFI swap in there. Obviously you are clueless so just have crx_si-r or somebody build you a harness. Done and done.

as a community, we should just help each other out.
if he asked for help. search him a write up, post a link.
it takes you less time to do that than type out and call him dumb.

so if you have nothing nice to say, do us all the favor;
shut the **** up.

btw, im not to sure how close the dx and SI match up plugs wise. but they cant be far off.
also, it might be that ur actually injectors could be faulty, not just the wiring.

That sounds reasonable. I did get the injectors from a wrecking yard, but when I had the swap done, It ran GREAT for the first 75 miles. Then I just started smelling raw fuel, and I was getting gas in my oil, and the #2 spark plug had (Carbon/Oil) Drenched on the electrode. I have yet to do a leak down test, But when I do the Compression test, These are the results from Dizy to alternator; Crank motor without starting:140,135,135,140
Crank motor and turn over: 140, 95, 135, 140. Sorry if this isnt enough info lol.

Did you not read what I posted either? I helped and he went off the deep end saying how he did this and that... I posted a link where he could find all the information and still complaints. You obviously have no clue either... I already stated they are NOT even close to just plugging in.

You should watch who you call what son. You clearly stated you don't know how to check the pin-outs. How do you check to verify if they are right? Oh I know - you look at a write up or wiring diagram noob. If this is how you want to act when people try to help, that's your problem. Anyways...

When you did the compression check did you try and add a few drops of oil to the cylinder to verify your rings are washed or not (I assume they are). If this is the case it sounds like a faulty injector as long as you can verify spark at those cylinders.

Oh, and just to show how "helpful" people are here is a thread asking, gasp, the same exact thing... Look at the responses he got - I was more helpful. It truly is the people who get help and complain about not hearing what they wanted to that brings down this "community".

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/d15b2-sohc-zc-wireing-2973644/

DPFI to MPFI, mini-me's, and engine swaps are the number 1 things that get asked 24/7 on here and sadly the information as been beaten to death. People have even done "simplification" write-ups on the already "idiot proof" write-ups...

LOL you posted a link on the rules, nothing thats going to help me. As far as wiring, ya i am a noob. Thats Why Im on this SITE lmfao. And I'm not ur son. But anyways as I stated earlier, theres carbon/oil on the electrode on the #2 spark plug. So it's kinda hard to add oil to the cylinder when its already there. lol

Well, now that I know for a FACT you didn't attempt to READ the link I posted I'll let you in on a secret... That link is actually for the FAQ's... If you would have scrolled down you would have seen ALL of the links to ALL kinds of useful threads.

As far as the plug being soaked - that could have been from leaking tube seals for all I know... This is why I asked if you did that or not... Sounds like you either have major ring or valve problems - something of that nature...

Ya I thought I might have had a leaking tube seal or a valve seal/guide go out. I ordered a remanufactured head. Its been hot tanked and has all new guides/seals on it. So I can scratch the head out of this scenario. Im also going to buy new injectors, and hope that this issue gets fixed. Thanks.

Ive done it. If you go this route you will need all 1989 civic si wiring harnesses including the cabin harness and rear harness. You will have to remove everything under the dash. If you need help i can walk you through it.

I've done the full harness swap as well. If you attempt it, be patient and make note of which plugs go where. Otherwise you will be back on here saying:

Where does this plug go?
Why is _____________ not working correctly?
