ive searched here and google with no luck so that why im posting here. im rebuilding my head and was curious to know if i should replace my keepers?? call me crazy but is this a part that has 2 different names? or this a part with jus one name? ive been out of this for a while and just got back into and ive never heard of keepers before, thats why im posting. whats the purpose of the keepers???

 

keepers or "locks" keep the spring retainers from sliding off the top of the valve. They are inexpensive so I'm of the belief that when I do something, I do everything for the peace of mind and insurance. They look like 2 semi-circular wedge shapes.
