All motor OBI B18B1
So one of my buddies bought this 98 integra ls 4 dr, it's fully loaded as far as an ls goes, leather seats, power windows, mirrors, moonroof, etc. One problem is, the guy he bought it from said it had Crower 404 cams in it as well as being rebuilt. Now one look at it i could tell it didn't have those cams nor has it been rebuilt. I could see stock cam gears...usually a give away but also the fact the guy kept a stock exhaust manifold...also unusual. I mean aftermarket camshafts really do nothing at all except sound sweet unless you do certain things like a port and polish, gasket match, and intake and exhaust manifolds, not to mention a tune. The car also burned a lot of oil, sometimes even at idle. The car had a lopey idle, not because of the "404's" but because he some how managed to snap the petcock valve on the valve cover in half then proceeded to waste his time duct taping it when he could've just bought a new one for $2-3 and installed it in less than 2 minutes like i did. So it more or less sounded just like a pos with an idling malfunction...we fixed that issue...blah blah blah...head gasket blew. Soooo we decided let's do work. Anyways to the build.
What we're doing is, port & polish, valve job, gasket matching, and actually putting Crower 404's in it with Crower dual titanium valve springs, retainers and cam sprockets to match. Also to come later is a 4-1 stainless header, AEM short ram, NGK iridium spark plugs with NGK individually grounded wires, MSD Blaster SS external coil, and the MSD 6AL-2 new-style ignition box with launch control function, chipped ecu with a fresh dyno tune...for now.
I just started tonight and only spent like say 2-3 hours on it, i just got a rough start on all the ports with some 80 grit, i will soon move on to the 120, i would do 180 also but the Summit kit didn't include 180 for some reason, and finally a buffing wheel.
Here's us in the process of removing the head, i'm just getting picture happy like always.

These are not Crower 404's...completely stock infact. There is significant lobe wear on both and notice they don't have a matte black finish

Delivery! Summit Racing's Porting & Polishing kit, includes an assortment of 80 & 120 grit wheels of all sorts of different sizes and shapes, as well as two tapered thingermabobs...it's late and i'm tired. Also we have a Cometic 81mm stock bore head gasket with a Cometic Thermo intake manifold gasket, running about $189 for everything, courtesy of Steve's Customs.

Next i have a couple pictures of the ports in progress...

Here's a picture of the #1 ex port with just a rough not even 10 minute take down with 80 grit.

#4 in port before picture, forgot to get before exhaust pictures, sorry but you should all know what that thick caked on junk looks like.

A little blurry, but #1-4 in ports with the 80 grit at an angle.

and the same for the exhaust here

That's all i have right now, i'll update later and keep the talking to a minimum as i'm sure you guys don't wanna be sitting here reading for 20 mins about nothing.
I'll do some more work on them tomorrow, see if i can't finish any of them up.
