It could be done B and D series I call ppg gear they say it could be done with custom mounts and hybrid racing shifter box they tell me is going to be min of 10k maybe more so to answer you question yes it can be done but why a k20/k24 swap is around 6-7 k make more power stock then a fully build b series
you would be better off just changing the final drive to a 4:77 like the 6 speed but in your 5speed trans. no d or b series made 6 speeds so the tranny being from a k series would make this a very hard swap to do without spending lots of money.

5th is the same either way .702 for all D-series trannys, except '92 - '95 Si trannys (from hatchbacks and Del Sols only) at .750

The wagovan tranny basically has two first gears, one just low for getting threw/getting unstuck. Plus that tranny runs a diff so you could only use it if u doin the whole rt4w.
No one asked... Can this tranny be regeared? Make it so it doesn't have two first gears instead make it have 1-6? Full custom rebuild sounds cheaper than any other option I've read about, granted you'd also be doing AWD.... Still think this could be kewl if you had the money.
Be some weird shifting, think you'd make the "low" first be 6th but might be doable...
