Great numbers. I hope mine is that strong if/when I get it tuned!

As you can see from the baseline, the standard vtec crossover is set too high. That's so people in the car can feel a sudden torque spike when it switches to the high cam. It helps sell cars when going for a test drive.

When VTEC is set lower, the torque really smooths out. Mine is set 5300, and you cannot feel anything. It just pulls smooth all the way to ~8k.

I think this made me dead set on getting a tune but I can't decide on AEM EMS of Hondata S300, the AEM EMS is cheaper for me to buy but more expensive to tune. Is it worth getting a full standalone?

Numbers are good for that setup on a dynojet.

Simular setup:

I have literally an identical setup as the one you posted John. Just haven't gotten it to the dyno yet.

Those are great numbers on a dynojet my friend. I am running a similar setup BUT have a P30 IM and WS2 exhaust so my power capabilities in the upper R's got cut short. My power curve though looks as if it would pull up into the low 190's if backpressure didnt come into play. But mine like yours has a beautifully linear torque/power curve from 5k to redline so I couldnt be happier with the grunt it provides. GL at the track and post some times.

Looking at your AF ratio I would spend a bit more time between 4200 - 5000 rpm and try and flattin that lean part out, same goes for that bump between 6100 and about 6700 It might not do much but thats the fun in tuning getting it perfect.

other thing to check out for is see if your setup is pulling a vacume at higher rpms , if it is try doing a pull without the filter and see if you gain anything.

I had an AEM EMS and played with it for a little over a year on my setup. I could never get it to idle correctly most likely due to the factory distributor sensors signal.
The AEM likes to see a digital/hall effect signal to work the best from my researching...That means either an AEM EPM or a T1 trigger wheel type setup (more$$)
I eventually went with an OEM ecu based tuning system and haven't looked back. Best thing I ever did.
For simple street setups, I believe they really do work better. If you ever want to get crazy and run COP, staged injectors, or any other more race oriented custom setups, AEM might be the better choice.

back from the dead lol
i finally ran this beast and got a 14.3 at 99 mph launching from an idle on street tires. The car was also full weight which was about 2400 with the driver. i put down a 2.34 60 ft and i only ran the car one time but beat a fully gutted hatch with a B16 on slicks launching on a two step, so i say it was a good trip lol.

I also ran my gsr swapped ej1 that is full weight at about 2550 with driver and got a 14.9 at 94 mph and beat on a turbo d. i launched at 3 grand on street tires

Should be good for 13s with those numbers. Just need a little more practice. My setup hit 13s with similar numbers.

learn to drive and aim for low 13's

coming from a guy who ran a 94 civic coupe with streettuned 96 itr swap (bone stock, WAI, stock header, streettires) to a 13.6 in 2008 (unprepped street) and a 13.3 in 2009 (dynotuned by then) prepped track.
