Default D16a8 HGF

Hi guys. My mate has a Rover Coupe and the head gasket on his D16a8 engine has gone. Trying to get all the bits together to get this done. What parts will I need? And do I use the original Honda gasket set or any better aftermarket ones? So far I have a list below as what parts I require. Anything else missing from the list that you recommend get replaced? Much appreciated. Ravinder.

Head gasket kit
Head bolts
Timing belt kit
Top end gaskets
Thermal inlet gasket?
Waterpump
Oil/Oil filter
Coolant
Spark plugs
Thermostat
CTS
Head needing skimmed and checked

They use Honda engine in Rovers?? wow... didnt know that.

dont really need a new CTS. Make sure your belt kit includes the tensioner and spring. Maybe a few cans of brake cleaner would help to degrease everything.

As far as for a HG, I'd really recommend sticking with OEM.

Yeah, some of the earlier Rovers came with this engine and the continental ones had the twin cam in them.
My mate has just told me he has bought some Head gasket from an aftermarket place. Should we use this one or buy one from Honda? Cheers
