I have a 99 Civic LX w/ just over 100K miles that has been causing me some trouble lately. Over a two month period, both door mechanisms on the rear doors has broken so that I can only open the doors from the inside. There is a small plastic clip apparently that connects the outer door handle to the plastic piece attached to the metal bar that opens the door. On both doors, this small plastic clip has broken and now only the inner handle can open them. I have taken the door panels off of the doors, but I cannot reach / don't know how to reattach the bar so that I can open the doors from the outside again.

I am a college student with a wife and kids so I have been trying to do this myself in order to save money. I was just wondering if anyone here has had this same problem and if they have any pointers on how I should go about fixing it. Thanks in advance!

I am at work right now and don't have any pics available to me. I will attempt to post pics soon though. I have looked online before to see if there are any pics or diagrams of what I am talking about, but have been unsuccessful. That is one of the reasons I am trying this forum, b/c I can't find any info on replacement of what I am talking about.
