one night after dinner with my family i got into my car. tried starting it and it wouldnt. on the way to the restaurant there were no problems with the car. i finally got it started after several tries but the tach would bounce around, as in jump from 500rpms to ~2750 and back down, and the engine was idling pretty rough. once i would start driving it the problems would go away. let it sit for the night, go out the next morning and it started right up. no problems what so ever. go the store and just as i pull in the tach started acting up and the car died. got it started after many more tries and got it home.

pulled the plugs/wires and cranked it. smelled each cylinder and there was fuel. checked for spark and wasnt getting any. swapped the dizzy and it started right up. i let it run for around 10mins. turned it off started it back up and thought i fixed the problem. come back about 2 hours later to leave and it dies just as i pull away from my house and will not start again.

car is a 92 cx with a d16z6 with eagle rods, srp pistons, arp headstuds and a few other internals. built it for boost but i'm working out problems like this one first. engine has 350 miles on it. alternator has around 200 miles. starter is brand new along with battery since initial start up

any help or what to do next to figure out the problem is appreciated.

 

Spark? Fuel? CEL codes?

 

has fuel and the injectors are pulsing. only two cels are for coolant temp sensor and vtec spool solenoid iirc.
