I purchased this transmission almost 3 years ago. Upon recently finishing my swap and getting the car running, we discovered while tuning it had a small hole in the transmission case. It leaked while driving with the fluid being thrown up on the inside of the case. We were trying to get the car ready for an event, so we "quick fixed the leak" and put the transmission back in the car. Upon driving it, I discovered that the leak was fixed, but it only wanted to go into 1st while moving, so I think the synchro needs replaced? Pulled it into the shop to see if the linkage was off and could hear what sounds like the input shaft bearing possibly making a little noise? It was hard to tell with the engine running open header.
I ended up just purchasing a 5 speed transmission to get my car running ASAP.
I figured I'd throw this up here to see if anyone would want it to rebuild it.
The hole that was in the case has been repaired with JB Quicksteel (yeah, I know)
I did grind down the surface around the hole and let the quicksteel setup until morning before putting any fluid in the transmission. It could very easily be welded when the case is apart. I don't know what caused the hole, as the transmission seemed to still work ok it just didnt want to shift smooth back into 1st and possibly had bearing noise?!
I put a total of 20 miles on the transmission while in my car, so I know the hole was there prior to me putting the transmission in. It is in the corner of the casting and we discovered it when we thought it was the input shaft seal leaking and pulled it out of the car. Obviously, not opening the box for 3 years after recieving what I was told was a "new" transmission bit me in the ***... it was apparent it wasn't new when I finally took it out, I just didn't think it would have these issues.
Anyways, here's the pictures I've got. If no one bites before I go to IFO Sept 4, I will pull it apart and rebuild it and weld the case up properly.

Where the hole is temporarily repaired. It'd probably be fine for a while, but I would still have it welded, since its going to need to come apart anyways. I can't see it costing anyone more than about $25 if you brought the case in. My buddy welds, so I know really how quick of a repair this should be if someone knows what they're doing).

VIN Number:

PM me on here and I will reply ASAP.
Would be willing to trade for a PTE 6265 or an EP3 or RSX Base transmission. Possibly other turbo parts or who knows. Shoot me an offer of something and maybe I'll be interested.
If someone is serious about buying it I can bring it to IFO.If you can't make it to IFO it will be $650 shipped and paypal'd anywhere in the lower 48

Hell, this could be parted out for more than I'm asking!
Or put a little work into it and sell it for a grand.
If no one wants it, I plan on doing the latter. It'd just be nice to have a little extra cash to cover the trip out there, as well as possibly ordering a turbo for my car when I get back from Kent.
