I got a 94 civic dx DD. Just got the a/c lines vac checked and it held according to specs. Then got the freon recharged @ 22oz. My problem is the air will blow cold for 5 mins or so then blows hot. I thought it was leaking out of the schrader valve but I replaced them both and the problem is still going on. What could it be?

 

Is the system now losing refrigerant?

When the air blows hot, does the condenser fan run? Does the compressor clutch engage?

 

its not leaking refrigerant the condenser fan is running, not sure how I would go about checking to see if the clutch engage

 

Measure the clutch plate/pulley clearance:

 

can I do all of these checks with the compressor still on the carand the lines still charged?
