OEM Brembo Rotors... Slotted, Cross Drilled or Blanks?
My stock rotors are warped and I need a new set of brake rotors/pads etc.. I can't decide between the slotted, cross drilled, or the blanks..
I hear the blanks are the best and the rest are just for looks.. but they look REAL good!
anyone?

Drilled rotors had a purpose a long time ago but now the rotor design is good enough that drilled is simply just for looks. As for slotted it helps prevent glazing, it's kind of does a self-cleaning... so for it to serve its purpose, youd have to ask how often are they going to glaze. That being said you should consider blanks or slotted
Actually drilled rotors can be good, but only if you're willing to spend major $$$ on a proper breaks setup that has high quality parts. I would go with slotted rotors cuz supposedly they let gas from ur break pads escape and run lower temps without cracking/warping of drillled rotors. You will need different pads or else your slotted rotors will eat them. If it don't matter, get blanks. BTW i have OEM brembo, they're ok by me.
go with the blanks.. you will probably never brake hard enuf to need slotted and x-drilled..
i got my brembo blanks at http://collettimotorsports.com/
pretty cheap deal imo
EDIT: also, if anything get better brakes than rotors

Blanks
been there with the other designs, what a waste of money, plus they rust all over even though they may have plating onthem... it comes off over time anyhow

Get the blanks. Crossdrilled was invented to fix the problem of gas getting trapped between the pad and the rotor during heavy braking. However current brakepads elminate said problem and the problem hasn't existed for close to 20 years. Slotted were invented to self clean themselves and the brake pads, however they wear out pads faster and their only practical application is for rally racing. (Where dirt, mud, etc gets on the brakes and could hinder performance)
If you look at any racecars (Rally excluded) they use blanks. IE. NASCAR, CART, Realtime Racing, etc. This is because blanks increase the contact area between the pad and the rotor, and also because it increases the sheer mass of the rotor. The larger the mass of the rotor the more effectively it pulls heat away from the pads. (Overheating of the brake system is the leading cause of brake fade during races)
Hope this is of some help to you.

that's a bit much (although still a good deal for what you get).
all you really need is...
a.)Autozone blanks are just as good as the Brembos
b.)Axxis Ultimates from http://www.cobaltfriction.com
You could get...
Lines (if you really wanted to go through the trouble)
and then replace the fliud...

has anyone ever tried Autozone blanks and HPS pads?
also, is there a noticeable difference in using steel braided lines?

And brembo blank rotors are good, but if you really need to brake from 120MPH to 40MPH constantly, go with slotted, but only if you really do this type of braking, and if you decide to go with the slotted you have to remember that you will change pads pretty often.
