synchros and cheap do not belong in the same sentence.

It does if you are describing how the OEM honda ones are in durability

synchros and cheap do not belong in the same sentence.

sounds like someone needs to learn to shift a little better....

my tranny has 90K worth of abuse.... i swapped the 1/2 hub out at ~65k, it wasn't really bad, but, new 1/2 hub definatly helped hitting 1st gear at 20 mph. IMO, early synchro wear is due to the driver, not honda.

FYI,

I'm looking into stocking tranny rebuild kits. Still getting some info on the different gear boxes.

I autox quite a bit so you'd think the 1-2 synchro would wear out first. Not the case for me.

The itr has double 1-2 synchro so it will last longer. I think third wears because its shifted at redline a lot and is an akward shift putting more load on the fork/synchro.
