Default 300whp B20v, Cant Spin 2nd! Hooking or problem?

Alright guys, I apologize if this sounds RICEY, but I recently got my setup done and tuned and was wondering if this was normal.

stockblock b20vtec, 3in DP->cutout, garrett 57trim, 8psi, Tial wastegate

Made 300whp, 219trq on cromepro(no boost by gear ofcourse)

When Im doing a run on (nitto neo gens 205-50-15) on a roll and punch it, itll spin 5500+(not very hard either), but once I go into second, the car just hooks(not a bad thing), but I was just stomped because I've seen/been in/driven cars with less power that RIPs 2nd!

So Conclusion, car will spin 1st, but hooks 2nd+.

I know the clutch ISNT slipping for a fact, so any other reasons as to WHY the car is behaving this way?

Btw, using a GSR non-LSD trans, 6puck non-sprung disk, stg4 pressure plate.

STOCK suspension

Thats impressive for a street tire that size. Ive heard good things about the Neogens.

when you hit 2nd, are you boosting?

no boost=no crazy spinning

depends how u shift

you're bitching about not spinning 2nd?? Spinning the wheels doesn't mean you make globs of power.. i'd rather hook in 2nd then spin in 2nd..

x2 Haha and lets not forget all the "unwanted attention" that spinning can bring when you are obviously punching it If you made good power on the dyno and you still dont feel right, take it to a track and the time slip will reveal your real answers

If those tires are really that good from all the hooking I have read about them, they're getting ordered soon lol

You hook, because you make very little TQ.

I ran the nitto neogens as well but on 17's (205-45-17) and would dead hook 375whp in second gear as well (with b16a tranny non lsd) in the summer from a roll as well. But if I snatched second it would spin but if I granny shifted it would hook.

x2
I tend to avoid wheel spin, getting the power to the ground is more important.

Lets see the dyno sheet. Those are pretty low torque numbers.

Horsepower doesnt mean anything, you want to tune so the torque line holds power till it falls off. The dyno sheet will tell alot.

I have a stock b20, no vtec, super 60 42/48, 2.5" downpipe, blah blah.. and my numbers are 234hp/223t. So the HP number is close to the torque which means every stroke has more power. Get what im saying? with your set up, you might spin 2 revolations to make the same torque as 1 revelation with my set up. Not trying to rag on ya here.. but alot has to do with the set up and mostly the tuner.

Heres my dyno sheet.

Edit: Now realize im only revving to 7.

My integra stock LS setup made over 300 ft/lbs of torque and spooled by 4000rpm and i would hook rolling into 2nd

heres the graph! I thought the torque was 219, but its actually 215!

NOTICE the power/torque increment differences..RED is with new turbo, BLUE is with the old smoking turbo! Same boost(8psi), retuned!

I sort of have boost by gear cos my big *** turbo lol - 1st gear max - 8 psi, 2nd - 14 psi, 3rd and above FULL BOOST - yee ahh!! I rarely get wheel spin and love the element of surprise hehe.

why does your torque and hp cross at different places for each tune?

I dont know why that graph looks weird, maybe its just me but according to the graph your making more like 315hp and 280tq. Also you dont see much power below 5k rpms, I think you have a boost leak or a laggy turbo.

TQ and HP are scaled differently on opposite sides of the graph. What cams are you running? I wouldn't count that spike at the end, so it looks like you are putting down around 280-285WHP at your peak.

Still the blue line is higher than 301. Torque is closer to being accurate but still looks really weird.

Youre right! I didn't even think about that. But I figure even with that power, tires will still be squealing.

Dynojet my friend!

Btw, hitting famoso raceway in two weeks! I guess we'll have to see then what kinda numbers I can run.

Where do u guys think it should be? (stock suspension, either 22x8x13slicks, 24x8x13slicks(probably best choice, but well see), or nitto drags 205-50-14)

Full weight and I can SOMEWHAT drive, but idk how well the stock suspension holds up with this kind of setup. Ive seen people run 11s with this setup, but I'll be happy with anything in the 12s, but I feel it might be low 13s

having that much power on stock suspension is something i wouldnt do.. that suspension is designed for a 90hp econo engine..

I woulda upgraded the suspension and bushings as one of the 1st mods done. Especially sway bars!

good luck to ya buddy
