b16/skunk2mani HELP!!
just installed a skunk2 intake manifold on a b16a1. Along with manifold, AEM fuel rail, RC 310 injectors were added at the same time. After the other problems were resolved took it for a spin..and ran into another problem that I can't figure out.
accelerating 1000-5000 seems normal, minimal gains
when I hit 6000 it turns in to almost no power..takes a few seconds to get through 6000 to 6500.
after 7000, doesn't seem to have all the power.
So does it need to be tuned?
Injectors not in correct?(becuase Im not sure they have the right seals and gaskets)
is it the ECU that will take time to ajust???

LoL hey Fit relax a bit, sometimes the boards move slowly and sometimes posts get overlooked. Just keep pushing it to the top for a reply someone almost always replies.
most of you don't know how to tie your shoes, how in the hell are you going to help me?? J/K (no jokes saying Im helpless)
and the "thanks alot *** holes" I knew would bring some attention. Still open for ideas guys
I also bypassed somekind of "thing" that has coolant running through it. It bolts in under the throttle body on the stock manifold...but there wasn't a place for it on the skunk2.

Did you change the settings on your fpr???? you probably have to lean it out you're running rich if you didn't....Why install injectors what do you have???
the thing you bypassed was to get warm/hot water to the throttle body. its an old honda performance trick also. i got my manifold on and dont really notice a difference at all even with cams and **** like that. imo i would have spent the money on ctr pisons or something comparable

depends what you have, probably don't need it... just get a fpr.. and you can get more fuel that way and when you max that out get injectors and a fuel rail....
are you even using the right injectors? Cause i know thier is a peak hold injector and another type they make for hondas.. That and you need som type of tuning device like a AFC or atleast a FPR and a Gauge.. Or maybe your car is just broke..lol.
If he was using the wrong injectors I would think the car wouldn't run at all. You need to tune it. Do you have a fuel pressure guage, do you have an air fuel ratio meter. If you had these guages you would know if you were running lean or rich. How could you possibly install all those things without having at least an A/F ratio meter. Take it to a shop where someone knows how to tune cars.
can you tell if VTEC is still activating? sounds like it's not. the thing you bypassed was the fast idle valve. my guess is the car wasn't warmed enough for vtec to engage, and thus, no vtec, and no power after 5500 rpm.
I needed new injectors in the first place, so instead of paying 80 for stock (275?)..I paid 85 for 310's. Vtec is ingaging. I do have a A/f guage, its running between stoich and rich, higher than orignally but not to much I think.
Fast idle valve? whats it do?

prolly need some bigger injectors. oh yeah, "*******." that is a good way to make some friends here that could share valuable knowledge with you, like, you are an idiot for buying 310 CC injectors for a motor that, naturally aspirated, will never need an injector that big. and that fuel rail? does nothing. but , what am i saying? you are smarter than that, so you can call us all "********." have a nice day, *******.

I think you have too large of injectors. I believe stock VTEC engine injectors are 240cc, not the 275 you previously mentioned. I would suggest putting back in your stock injectors and trying that. I am kind of having the same problem because I have too large of injectors for what I am doing and no type of programmable engine management to control it.
The 310's are too big for what you have done. They need to be turned down using some sort of fuel computer. Make sure everything is installed correctly and have those injectors tuned. What is your fpr set at and what rpm is your Vtec engaging at?
