Exedy Stage 1 clutch. Is it for daily use? City & Highway?
As title suggestions. I want to know if anyone here has this clutch as a DD. What's your feedback on it?
Is it easy to drive? Do you drive in the city?
I've been told all kinds of **** from some people and just bench talk and want to know if someone can provide facts.
thanks in advance.

I daily and Exedy Stage 2 with like a 9lb flywheel with no problems. If I were only doing daily driving I would have definitely gotten the Stage 1 because it is effortless to make smooth shifting and acceleration with a full face design.
Anything that's a sprung hub organic full face will drive easily. It's the unsprung puck clutches and the metallic full face race clutches that get harder to DD. I drove a Southbend metallic, unsprung, full face clutch in my DSM and it was okay after a few thousand miles.
It's all about how much you want your power to hold at higher levels (600+). If you're not making big power just stick with an organic based sprung hub clutch like an Exedy stage 1 or 2. Chances are I'll go with an Exedy stage 2 or something equivalent beacuse I want something that isn't a pain to drive everyday, but will hold up to more abuse than an OEM.

I use this daily and HPDE track. It is only mildly more pedal force than stock, I actually prefer the Stage 1 pedal feel. Works fine city, freeway, and stuck in traffic. Of course any clutch is not really fun in start and stop traffic. I kept the stock flywheel, though I would probably go lighter if I had it to do over. Saved money at the time.
i have the exedy stage1 and it feels like a stock clutch to me about 12k miles and its never slipped , granted i dont have much power but i beat on my car just about everyday shifting at 9k rpm regularly
I've used an Exedy stage I with an ITR PP in a mildly modified B16, daily driving - absolutely no issues and have no problems recommending this to anyone. Stock like clutch feel, grabs well.
I don't believe all stage 1 clutches are built equally well.

Just wanted to update this and provide whoever searches my final results.
The moment I picked up the clutch it was pretty firm. However that only lasted 4 weeks.
Now that it's been worked in I can't find the difference between the stock and exedy clutch engaging sync (clutch, to gas to shifter).
Now this may just be my inexperience talking, but I feel the car pulls much better!
Recommend buy for anyone looking for a new clutch on their FG2 or any car for that matter.
