Default b16a NA

in the opinion of the masses, what is the best way to go when it comes to a naturally aspirated b16?

i suggest getting rid of the block n getting a gsr or lsv block, cause b16 blocks have low compression n wont make much if at all any more torque then stock, unless you get high compression pistons, you'll get great high end power with a b16 tho, good for those 40mph rolls.

some of the masses will say don't go B16 but go GSR or B20...

others will say search as it is the world's most covered topic...

i myself agree with the search option...

xelhefe, idk why people on these sites like to flame others, their here to help people. not everyone can afford engine swaps, etc. since you asked for na b16 the question is realistically what output are you looking at and how much do you want to spend. if you just want NA and have lots of money then yes, a swap would be perfect but if you have little money and don't want to do much then the maximum to maintain the NA is intake, headers exhaust, boring and tuning etc. or drive it as it is.

it's not worth it to do a NA b16 build, turbo, sure, but not NA. You're going to spend a whole lot of money for lackluster power from a NA B16

Yea, I have a B16 that was somewhat built (Built head with pro 1 cams and 11:1 compression) and let me tell you.... not worth the money spent! Thats why I picked up a turbo and got rid of the cams for itr cams.

But if this is what route you want to go then don't expect crazy power from it.

I would look for piston setup that will bring static compression around 13.1-13.5 with some toda c's or jun 3 cams

The compression may sound crazy but on a 1.6 pulling anywhere near 85% ve will be difficult so your motor may never see that compression dynamically.

Do some research.
