Default Wiring/Fuse Questions

I was experiencing the infamous overheating issues that so many of us have heard about. I have a new radiator, new cooling fan switch, new coolant temp sensor and a new thermostat. We decided to wire the radiator fan to run constantly (while the car is on, anyway) and have temporarily run the wire from the relay slot under the hood because we discovered that there was a short somewhere from the relay box to the fan.

Question: If any of you are running your fan constantly, where do you have it wired from?

Question: In reading posts in these fora, I found some comments that suggest that running the fan in a constant manner is not advisable; is this accurate? If so, why?

Question: What amperage of inline fuse should I use?
